The vapors made by electronic cigarettes have been compared to the smell of a barbeque. Most non-smokers find this smell offensive. Electric cigarettes are different. They produce no smoke and so are less harmful than smoking. But is e-cigs safe?
Theoretically, it’s impossible for electric cigarettes to create smoke. This seems reasonable. The vapor is expelled through the mouthpiece and nose, so there should be no smoke coming out.
Unfortunately, you can find problems with the electronic cigarettes that make their vapor harmful. For starters, the heat-generating elements in the electric cigarettes can get extremely hot, which can cause burning of your skin or of the mouth. Secondly, electronic cigarettes don’t contain any water or fat, so the liquid vapor is not “wet.” Almost all of the liquid evaporates quickly, landing mostly on the floor or the table.
The liquid also offers no taste. To nonsmokers, this might not seem like a lot of a problem. To a smoker, however, the taste is unpleasant and may signify that the vapor is causing health risks. It is difficult to imagine how to eliminate a number of the taste from a product that is supposed to replace smoking.
Another problem with electronic cigarettes is that they don’t seem to be effective. Studies have shown that lots of people who try to stop smoking using them don’t succeed for a long time. Some researchers think that for the reason that they are relying too heavily on the devices, with the effect they aren’t changing vapinger their behavior.
Smokers who make an effort to quit using electric cigarettes sometimes don’t succeed for weeks or months. They give up because they don’t believe that they are making any progress. When a person quits smoking, he or she knows that it will require time and energy to overcome the habit. Electronic cigarettes don’t provide a timeline.
Despite the fact that nicotine is contained in many of the most advanced electronic cigarettes, there’s still no evidence they can successfully be used to provide individuals who smoke regular cigarettes a “secondhand” experience. Folks are using electronic cigarettes for a variety of reasons, and they can’t all reap exactly the same benefits. For instance, smokers who use them to greatly help them stop smoking may be relying too heavily in it. They may not remember that they may be with them to increase their threat of serious health conditions, such as cancer.
Electronic cigarettes do present a real risk, but they are much like many other naturally occurring substances. Studies show that the consequences of long-term contact with second-hand vapors is nearly add up to that of cigarette smoke. The vapors pose no serious health risk, and the compounds that cause them have been found in previous studies to be generally safe. However, you need to stay away from vapors if you’re a smoker, since they are potentially hazardous if you breathe them in. If you are not a smoker, or you simply aren’t concerned about getting cancer, electronic cigarettes are probably not a good choice for you.
